Culwick Choral Society

The Culwick Choral Society was founded in 1898 by the illustrious musician, Dr. James C. Culwick, who was also a co-founder of Feis Ceoil in 1897. The Culwick is an amateur choir whose members are drawn from all over Dublin (Ireland) and the surrounding counties. While the choir is versatile in its repertoire, performance of the classical choral works is undoubtedly dearest to the heart of the Society.  Click here for more information about the choir

Joining the Culwick Choral Society

The Culwick Choral Society is an SATB (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) Choir of over 120 voices.

We are currently seeking to recruit male singers to fill vacancies in our TENOR and BASS sections.

Membership is subject to passing audition by our Musical Director.

Although the ability to read music is not a requirement, it is an advantage.  CDs with your musical line highlighted for home practice between rehearsals may be provided.

Rehearsals: Thursday, 7.15 pm for 7.30 pm start Wesley House, Leeson Park, Dublin 6.

Please note that our annual membership fee is €140 (reduced rate for full-time students).

If you would like to apply then click here to download an application form (Microsoft Word format) and email it to culwickchoral@gmail.com to make an arrangement to come to one of our Thursday night rehearsals.  Following that rehearsal, if you wish to proceed with your application, an audition with our Musical Director will be arranged for you.

Alternatively, you can use the contact form to request more information, and someone will respond to you promptly.

Applications for other voice sections may be considered, but there can be waiting lists for those sections.
